Upon arrival in Athens, you will transition to a connecting flight to Chania, Crete. Upon landing in Chania, you will be met with a driver who will greet you and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel.
For the first stop of your tour, your expert guide will take you to a traditional family winery, established in 1993, unique due to its refreshing approach to farming and wine production. There, you’ll experience Crete’s nature first-hand, walking along rows of olive trees and tasting award-winning wines, such as the local varieties of ‘Vidiano’, ‘Muscat’ or ‘Spinas’, and international varieties like ‘Grenache Rouge’, ‘Syrah’ and ‘Mouverde’. You’ll even get to pair your wine with an assortment of Cretan goods, including fresh vegetables, cold-cuts, and local cheese!
Following the visit to the winery, you will marvel at the beautiful neighborhoods of the island, heading towards traditional Cretan villages. Your wanderings will lead you to the museum of the oldest olive tree in the world, which is estimated to be around 3000 years old!Continue the tour with a visit to an alluring winery in the region of Kissamos, where you’ll taste a unique white wine blend made with the combination of ‘Vilana’, ‘Vidiano’, ‘Assyrtiko’ and other delectable wines, always paired with Greek snacks.Next, visit a local, family-run olive oil factory to learn about the extra virgin olive oil production; a craft the Greeks have perfected over countless years of practice. A leisure day in Chania, Crete starts with a stroll in the Old Town, a boat trip to Thodorou, and seaside lunch. Explore museums or local shops in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner with a view at sunset and wrap up the day with Chania’s lively nightlife along Akti Tompazi promenade. Perfect blend of history, cuisine, and relaxation on this charming Cretan day.
Early morning transfer to Heraklion port for your high speed boat ride to Santorini. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.
Morning free to explore the island. In the afternoon join the 5 hour semi-private catamaran sunset cruise along the caldera. Whilst taking in the striking landscape of the Santorinian sunset you can also enjoy swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling in private bays like the famous volcanic hot springs. Only a 45 minute boat ride away from Mykonos, Delos was the centre of the Cyclades of the ancient world, the island of light, birthplace of Apollon and Artemis, home to the first multicultural civilization and trade.
There is a lot to see: having been inhabited between 2500 and 69 B.C. Delos boasts of many treasures remaining from these rimes like the ancient market place Agora, the famous terrace of the Naxos lions, the holy lake, the ancients living quarters and the theatre that gives you a lively vision of the daily life then; especially the houses of Dionysos, Kleopatra, the Trident, the Masks, the Dolphins with their mosaics are a fantastic experience of art not to be missed.
Furthermore there is the Temple of Isis, the Egyptian goddess, the Roman water system and cisterns and the wonderful museum with plenty of breathtaking mosaics, statues and many more objects found during the excavations.
Day at leisure in Mykonos to enjoy this unique island. Mykonos island is a wonderful kaleidoscope of cosmopolitan shops, rocking bars, quaint windmills, great beaches, homey taverns and hidden churches all set against a brilliant blue backdrop. And it’s not just the water that sparkles in the sun on Mykonos, but also the marble streets and beautiful white cubist buildings that characterize the island’s architecture.
At the indicated time you will be transferred to the port for your ferry to Athens. Upon arrival in Athens you will be transferred to your hotel.
The striking contrast between breathtaking monuments of a glorious past and modern elegant structures is what you will enjoy during your tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis,the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Drive to the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus, the Panathinaikon Stadium(site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896), the Tomb of the unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square. See views of government buildings and elegant structures of the 19th century. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library.
