Itinerary



1st day - ROME
Accommodation and overnight at the hotel.
2nd day - ANCIENT ROME & COLOSSEUM HALF DAY  (AFTERNOON WALKING TOUR)
A walk through the heart of Ancient Rome, an area rich with historical memories, where the great epic of Rome began. From Venice Square you will walk up the Capitol Hill from where you will enjoy an incredible view of the Forum. Continuing onwards we will first admire Trajan's Column with its gorgeous bas-relief sculptures to then walk through the Roman Forum, center of the public life of ancient Rome, until we finally arrive at the Colosseum (visit inside), where, thanks to a preferred entrance ticket, you will skip the entrance line. DURATION OF THE TOUR: approx. 3 hours.
3rd day - ROME/FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel. According to your departure time, you will be transferred the train station. Departure to Florence.

4th day - 1ALC AM Renaissance and Medieval Guided Visit with Accademia & Lunch (daily except Mondays)
Start your Tour from the very heart of Florence, with the Guided Visit of Accademia Gallery with a total immersion in the art of Michelangelo to know his most renowned works, the “David”, and other important masterpieces such as ''I Prigioni'', ''San Matteo'' and the “Palestrina Pietà”. The young Michelangelo carved the David from a huge block of rough marble in three years, creating an imposing sculpture of absolute beauty, an icon of the renaissance model. Then you will proceed with awalking Tour which will include the outdoor guided visit of San Lorenzo Church and the Duomo complex: San Giovanni Baptistery with its bronze doors as the famous Porta del Paradiso and the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi and Giotto’s bell tower. The walk continues along lively Via Calzaiuoli in the heart of the city, where you can admire the imposing and singular Orsanmichele Church, a masterpiece of Florentine gothic art, decorated with shrines with statues of the patron saints of the powerful medieval trade guilds. Then you reach the bustling Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market): don’t forget to rub the nose of the famous "porcellino" (pig) and toss a coin into the fountain to bring you good luck! Going on, you can admire the romantic, picturesque Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, with its renowned jewellery shops. Your lovely blast from the past will end in Piazza Signoria, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the political centre of the city. In this true “outdoor museum”, you’ll be amazed as you admire the beautiful Fountain of Neptune with the marvellous and imposing marble statue by Ammannati and then, looking around, the sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, including the Cellini’s Perseus and the Gianbologna’s Rape of the Sabines. Dominating all this is the majestic Palazzo Vecchio with its crenellatedArnolfo tower, one of the most famous symbols of Florence that you will be able to admire in all its magnificence. 6th day - VENICE GUIDED TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning guided walking tour of the historical centre of Venice.
Have a walk outdoors (no entries)throught the most characteristic and important places for the history of Venice. An essential tour for the understanding of Venice! Route: Piazza San Marco,Origins, history and description of the main monuments: Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Bell Tower, clock Tower and Procuratie.Santa Maria Formosa -History and anecdotes related to this wonderful and characteristic square. Campo SS. Return to San Marco through the Mercerie, vital connection between Rialto and San Marco and the main street for the city shopping.

7th day - VENICE/MILAN
Breakfast at the hotel. According to your departure time, you will be transferred the train station for your journey to Milan.

Optional Tours

Venice - Excursion to Murano, Burano and Torcello
Duration 3.30 hrs

After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant’Elena and the Lido famous beach resort, the boat arrives at Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here you have 40 minutes for a visit to one of the factories, and discover the magic of glass. The second stop will be at the pictoresque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace, but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colours. The stop will last about 30 minutes. After a short sail, you’ll reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the lagoon. Only the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remains as testimony ofits former glory. This stop lasts about 30 minutes. Then the boat will make its way back to St.Mark’s Square.
 
Clients should go to Serenissima boat station in St Mark Square in front of the Old prisons, 15 minutes before tour start.


Florence - Medieval and Renaissance Florence Walking Tour

The most complete and thrilling guided walking tour starts from the peculiar Central market zone, characterized by workshops and multicolored stalls, where the Medice Chapels, and Basilica di S. Lorenzo, the church of Medici's Family are located. In a short time you can reach Piazza del Duomo, where you can admire the Cathedral (inside visit) and its dome by Brunelleschi, the bell-tower by Giotto, Saint John Baptistery with its Paradise Door. The tour continues by visiting the medieval quarters where Dante Alighieri and Beatrice lived. Further on you can find Palazzo del Argello. Not too far you will find Piazza della Signoria, a great "open-air sculpture museum" overlooked by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. Net to it the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museum all over the world. Then you proceed to the picturesque Mercato della Paglia (Straw market), where the famous Piglet Fountain is located. You walk along the street that leads to Ponte Vecchio, the "jewels bridge". By crossing the bridge, you will reach the wonderful Pitti Palace where the tour ends.
