HALF DAY PRIVATE TOUR OF ATHENS (4 HOURS) |
Start the tour by taking a drive to the Acropolis of
Athens. Visit of the Acropolis and its Museum.
After the visit, continue with a drive through the
historical part of the city. See all the highlights of
the city such as the Hadrian's Arch, the temple of
Olympian Zeus (visit), the statue of Lord Byron, the ex
Royal Palace, the Evzons (the guards dressed in their
special costumes), the Constitution Square, the Academy,
the University, the Library, the theater of Herodus
Atticus, the theater of Dionysus, the National Gardens,
etc. (for your info, we will just drive through the
above sites, not visit, except the temple of Zeus - we
only stop at the Ex Royal Palace where you get to see
the guards dressed in their special costumes - you can
be even photographed with them...) Visit also of the
magnificent Old Olympic Stadium constructed in marble
with a capacity of 65000 spectators (the first modern
Olympic games were held in this stadium - the Stadium
will be used for the Olympics of 2004, Archery and
Marathon race....).

Our excellent English speaking guide and air-conditioned
mini-coach will meet you and begin the tour by taking a
drive through the historical part of the city. See all
the highlights of the city such as the Hadrian's Arch,
the temple of Olympian Zeus (visit), the statue of Lord
Byron, the ex Royal Palace, the Evzons (the guards
dressed in their special costumes), the Constitution
Square, the Academy, the University, the Library, the
theater of Herodus Atticus, the theater of Dionysus, the
National Gardens, etc. (for your info, we will just
drive through above sites, not visit - we only stop at
the Ex Royal Palace where you see the guards dressed in
their special costumes – you can be even photographed
with them...) and visit also the temple of Olympian
Zeus.
Then visit the magnificent Old Olympic Stadium
constructed in marble with a capacity of 65000
spectators (the first modern Olympic Games were held in
this stadium...) Stadium was used while the Olympics of
2004(archery and marathon). Continue our tour with the
visit of the Acropolis of Athens and its Museum. Then
your group can be taken for lunch in a typical Greek
Tavern with excellent Greek food, in the old section of
the city in the Plaka. (if you prefer, we can make the
reservation at the tavern and you eat whatever you like
paying on the spot)
After lunch, you can have free time to stroll around the
narrow streets of the Plaka and do some shopping. Meet
our mini bus around 3:30pm for the return drive to the
port.

Then we depart for a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal
road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing
through some of the most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni,
Varkiza) of Athens to CAPE SOUNIO. There you will visit the 5th
century B.C. TEMPLE of POSEIDON with one of the most
breathtaking panoramic views in the world (on a clear day you
can see at least seven islands). The precipice is a sheer 197
foot drop to the sea. |
